Trust God’s Plans

Read

Psalm 139:13-18 (NLT)
13You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.

15You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.

16You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.

17How precious are your thoughts about me, O God.
They cannot be numbered!

18I can’t even count them;
they outnumber the grains of sand!
And when I wake up,
you are still with me!

Reflect

Have you ever thought about being famous? Most of the time, it’s the only thing I think about! Even if it’s to be a singer, dancer, doctor or skateboarder, everyone’s thought about being a world renowned superstar. Everywhere you go, people would want to take a selfie with you!

Everyone has dreams and aspirations. Some people only dream of success. Others actually work hard for it.

God has dreams and plans for your life too. Before you were even born, He knew what you were going to be when you grew up! Sometimes our dreams are a bit different than the plans God has for us. I’ve wanted to be a famous dancer all of my life, and sometimes, I get upset with God because it hasn’t happened yet. But God says His plans are a thousand times better than the plans we set for ourselves. If we seek God faithfully and put our trust in Him, His plans will play out in our lives and we will be truly blessed.

Respond

Ask God to reveal His plans for your life. When His plans seem to be different than yours, ask Him for the strength and desire it will take to follow him faithfully. “Dear God, help me to want what you want for me.”
