Zechariah 8:16a (NLT)
16But this is what you must do: Tell the truth to each other.
Have you ever lied before? No matter how minor, we have all most definitely lied.
Personally, I lost my identity in telling lies while trying to meet society’s standards. I changed my appearance and persona into something I’m truly not. I told tall tales to make my life seem more appealing than it really is. Once I got into the habit of doing so, I lost control. Everything I knew was dishonesty and I couldn’t see the difference between fiction and reality.
This wasn’t right. How could I create a more appealing version of me when only God is capable of transforming me into the best me I could possibly be?
Are you distorting your reality right now? Bring your misrepresentation to God. Ask Him to forgive your sin. God knows you better than you know yourself, so trust God to know what is right for you.
