Doubts and Anxieties

Read

Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)
10So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

1 Peter 5:7,10 (NIV)
7Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
10And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

Reflect

  This week, I felt extremely worried and full of doubts because my dad was trying to find a new job, and finances would be a little tight due to the unstable salary. I kept wondering about whether our family could make ends meet. I was anxious thinking about all the negative situations that might happen – I even thought of going out to find part time job to help loosen my parents’ burdens.

  However, when I looked upon this Scripture, it awakened me to fear not, for God will strengthen me and help me. He will uphold me with His righteous right hand. I was set free from the chains of stress and uncertainty when I was reminded that the Lord is in control and He has a plan and purpose for everything!

Respond

  We face uncertainties in life. Will you cast them onto the Lord? God wants to help us carry our burdens, let Him do it today.

  Pray this prayer: “Lord I feel really stressed out and full of doubts right now. I need You to be with me and help me to know that You’ll strengthen me and see me through. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
