A Clean Slate of Forgiveness

Matthew 6:14-15 (NIV)
14For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Isaiah 43:25 (NIV)
25“I, even I, am he who blots out
your transgressions, for my own sake,
and remembers your sins no more.

We all repent for our sins and then they are washed away, but some people question it. They question what God does—does he write them down and hold them against us, or do they just disappear. Let me tell you something, God doesn’t keep a record of your sins. He covers them in his blood and they are washed away.

So, if God can do it, can you? Let’s do what God does and clean the slate today. Just forget everything, stop asking God for a do-over. He has already moved on. Yes, we all sin, and God understand that. That’s why we have the opportunity to repent and receive forgiveness. That’s what God wants us to do.

God isn’t finished with you yet. He still has stuff for you to do. So, know that you can start over with a clean slate.

Let’s all just pray, right now, for God to forgive us and clean our slates. Once you are done praying, stop worrying about those old mistakes, and be reassured of the ability to start fresh.
