Romans 8:31-32,38-39 (NIV)
31What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I have always liked these verses because they show that nothing would ever be able to separate us from God. It has always given me a sense of strength and assurance whenever I read from these verses.
The truth is, if you have God in your life then no one can be against you. God is all you truly need. Now don’t get me wrong, we need our families and friends, but when it comes down to it, when our lives on Earth are over, the only thing that matters is that God is with us.
As Christians, we just need to remember that God will be there for us, even when it seems like no one is. Nothing can separate us from the bond, relationship, or “love of God that is in Jesus Christ our Lord.” So, remember that we are going to face people who don’t agree with our beliefs, and they will be against us. But our hope and security is in that fact that God is for us.
