1 Corinthians 16:13 (NIV)
13Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.
Matthew 28:19-20 (NLT)
19Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Have you ever had to sit on the bench during a game you were excited to play in? It doesn’t feel good does it?
As a Christian, you can either sit on the bench, not telling anyone about Jesus, or you can tell EVERYONE and be a witness to those who don’t know. It’s hard, sometimes, to share the gospel, but it’s all for the glory of God, so we don’t need to be afraid.
While you don’t exactly get to choose whether you’re a benchwarmer in sports, with your faith, you can choose to be in the starting lineup! If you don’t tell anyone about your faith, you’re still on the “team,” but you’re not playing like an all-star. God says to be bold…so what are we waiting for? Go and share God’s Word!
