2 Thessalonians 2:16 (CEB)
16Our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father loved us and through grace gave us eternal comfort and a good hope.
Jeremiah 31:3 (NIV)
3The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying:
“I have loved you with an everlasting love;
I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.
These scars don’t define me
These wounds are not me.
I will not hide anymore.
The miles on my soul are my greatest treasure.
Though they might not all be pretty,
They are mine, and I don’t want to be rid of them.
I cherish my soul,
And even though it’s been through a lot,
It’s still the most beautiful.
All my memories fill a library,
There are good ones and bad ones,
Some are covered in dust and others are dog-eared.
I may not even remember all of them,
There are so many and there is more every day.
But there is one person who has seen and knows all of them.
He cherishes each and every one of them.
Even the ones I wish I could hide.
He is the only one who has access to all of them.
He loves my memories and loves me even more.
He loves with a love unparalleled.
He died for me.
He doesn’t judge me or my memories.
When I mess up, He doesn’t make fun of me.
He just looks at me with love in His eyes and says
“I love you.
Nothing that you can do will change that.
I made you and I love you.
You are my prized possession.
You may mess up now, and others may leave you, but I never will.
I’m with you till the end of the line.”
He tells me this as he pulls me into an embrace.
I start to release the tears that I’ve held onto for so long.
He whispers, “I love you” as he wipes my tears.
I look at Him with tear filled eyes.
He tells me, “I will never leave you.”
Then He takes my head into his hands,
And He kisses my head.
“I love you with an everlasting love.”
Spend some time in thankful praise to an Almighty God with an everlasting love.
