Changes

Read

2 Corinthians 5:17 (CEB)
17So then, if anyone is in Christ, that person is part of the new creation. The old things have gone away, and look, new things have arrived!

James 4:8a (NLT)
8Come close to God, and God will come close to you.

Reflect

I was taking the state test at my school and in one of the passages there was something that said, “If you keep continuing what you’re doing, how do you expect to change?” I didn’t think much of this at first, but soon after, I saw it again, and that’s when the words really stuck with me. I felt like this was a message for me.

I began to pray, and I continue to pray to God to help me change and to have a deeper relationship with Him. By having a deeper relationship with God, I will better understand the message that is being spoken to me.

Although I want this badly, sometimes I become fearful of what God wants me to do, so I don’t take action. I must remind myself of the Corinthians verse. If I trust and take that first step God has given me, He will help me become new and become the person He has made me to be. The old me will be gone and the new me is soon to come!

Respond

Are you ready to take the first step God has called you to take? Are you ready to be new in your relationship with Christ? It may be hard at first, but God has a plan for YOU! Trust in Him! Ask God to help you take that first step.
